Kathryn Davis, PhD is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Dallas. She specializes in literary tradition, medieval literature, and the works of Jane Austen, Dante, and Shakespeare. Her research focuses on moral philosophy in literature, religious themes, and historical contextualization of classic texts.
Education: PhD in Literature from the University of Dallas (Institute of Philosophic Studies) and BA in History from the University of Kansas. Previously held the Jack Miller Center Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship in Western Heritage at Carthage College (2013-2015).
Her recent scholarship includes analyzing social norms in Jane Austen's works, exploring military themes in Mansfield Park, and examining providence in Persuasion. Current projects include a forthcoming monograph on liberty in Austen's Persuasion.
