Prof. Kathrin Gerling is a Computer Scientist and Professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where she leads the Human-Machine Interaction and Accessibility research group at the Institute of Anthropomatics and Robotics (IAR). She co-directs the Accessibility Real-World Lab, focusing on designing digital technologies (e.g., virtual reality, wearables) to enhance societal participation for diverse groups, particularly people with disabilities. Her work bridges computer science, architecture, and human-centered design.
