Uichin Lee

Professor Uichin Lee is affiliated with the School of Computing at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he leads the Interactive Computing Lab. He also holds joint appointments in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Graduate School of Data Science, and KAIST Health Science Institute.

• Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA (2008)
• Previously worked at Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs (2008-2010)

Research Focus: Dr. Lee's work combines Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp), and Sensor Data Science to develop intelligent positive computing systems that address threats to human health and digital wellbeing. His research involves collecting real-time sensor data from mobile devices, wearables, and IoT systems, applying data science techniques to analyze wellbeing states, and creating novel just-in-time intervention systems.

Scientific Contributions: Recognized through induction into the SIGCHI Academy (2023) and multiple Best Paper Awards at premier conferences like ACM CHI, AAAI ICWSM, and IEEE CCGrid. His editorial service includes roles at PACM HCI (CSCW) and PACM IMWUT (Ubicomp).
