معرفی
Prof. Dr. Kathrin Brockmann is a Professor and Senior Physician at the Department of Neurodegenerative Diseases, University Hospital of Tübingen, and serves as Research Group Leader and Clinical Coordinator of the Neurobiobank at the Hertie-Institute for Clinical Brain Research. She is also an Associated Investigator at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE).
Her research centers on large-scale longitudinal studies to elucidate neurodegeneration phases, symptom development, and progression in Parkinson's Disease. She specializes in patient stratification through genetic architecture and biomarker profiling to advance pathway-specific therapies, integrating clinical data with biomaterial analysis via the Neurobiobank.
She leads four major research initiatives:
- MJFF-PPMI Study (original, prodromal, and genetic cohorts)
- MJFF PRKN/PINK1 Consortium
- GBA1 Consortium on Joint Analyses for Clinical Trials
- DZNE-DESCRIBE-PD (sporadic PD, GBA-PD, LRRK2-PD)
Additionally, she serves as Deputy in multiple clinical trials targeting pathway-based treatments. Her Neurobiobank coordination bridges clinical practice with biomarker research to accelerate precision medicine approaches for neurodegenerative disorders.
