Kathleen Kirsch, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Classics and Catholic Studies at the University of Mary, with a joint appointment enabling exploration of the interplay between classical/pagan and Romano-Christian literature and culture. She serves as Director of the Summer Latin Institute. Her research focuses on 4th-century Latin poet Prudentius and his articulation of faith through contemporary language, as well as manuscript studies (paleography and textual criticism). She holds a PhD from the Catholic University of America (2019), preceded by an MA (2014) and BA (2011) from the same institution and Ave Maria University, respectively.
Believing education liberates the mind for truth-seeking, Dr. Kirsch emphasizes the complementarity of natural and divine revelation in her teaching. Her interdisciplinary work bridges classical and Christian intellectual traditions, reflecting her global experiences across 13 countries. No awards or grants are explicitly listed, though her academic contributions to Prudentius scholarship are implied through her listed research foci.
