Kathleen Kambic

Kathleen Kambic is an Associate Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of New Mexico. She is affiliated with the Water Resources Program, the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, and the Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies Program. Her research focuses on water infrastructure, feminist political ecology, and marginalized urban spaces. She has contributed to international design competitions and co-authored a forthcoming book on design competitions in landscape architecture.

Education: MLA and MArch from the University of Virginia. Research emphasizes the political ecology of arid landscapes and feminist critiques of landscape architecture. Current projects include studies of the Rio Grande's subbasins and interdisciplinary water governance strategies.

Teaching includes graduate studios on decentralized water systems and memorial design. Her work bridges design practice with critical theory, addressing issues of equity and environmental justice in urban contexts.
