Kathleen E. Jones

Kathleen E. Jones is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Campbell University's School of Nursing within the Department of Nursing & Health Sciences. With over 25 years of experience as a pediatric trauma nurse, she teaches courses in Labor and Delivery, Skills Lab, Fundamentals, Adult Medical-Surgical I, and the Nursing Practice of Women and Children.

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (Capital Technical Community College, 1995), Baccalaureate Degree (Mount Olive University, 2015), Master of Science in Nursing Education (University of Phoenix, 2018), Ph.D. in Nursing Education (Liberty University, ongoing).

Her research interests focus on pediatric trauma care, disaster medicine, and innovative nursing education methods, including simulation-based training. She has developed a resiliency program for junior nursing students and explores training children as first responders in active shooter scenarios.

Recent publications include a 2021 study on youth first responder training. Jones contributes as a peer reviewer and editorial board member for journals like the Journal of Emergency Nursing and ACTA Scientific Pediatrics.
