Dr. Kathleen Tilton is an Associate Professor and currently serves as the Undergraduate Nursing Chair and Traditional BSN Program Director at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW). Her academic roles emphasize nursing education and curriculum development. She has taught full-time since 2008, with experience in undergraduate pre-licensure, RN-BSN, and master's programs.

She advocates for immersive cultural experiences, particularly in Latin America, to foster empathy and adaptability in nursing practice.
Awards: She received the 2017 UIW Provost's Legacy Teaching Award, recognizing her excellence in education and mentorship.
Teaching and Advising: Tilton has directed courses like Fundamentals of Nursing, Cultural Diversity in Health Care, and Pathophysiology. Her career includes prior roles as a Clinical Educator in a hospital system, where she trained nursing staff. She prioritizes preparing students for ambiguous, patient-centered scenarios through curricular innovations and simulation tools.
