Kathirvel Soundappan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India. He specializes in primary/rural healthcare, implementation/operational research, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and the Internet of Things in healthcare. His work focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to AMR prevention, political/regulatory strategies in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), and international treaty frameworks for national action plans.
Research Themes:

- Integration of environmental sciences, animal health, and political frameworks in AMR control
- Role of IoT in improving healthcare delivery
