Katherine Roth is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Petriello lab at Wayne State University. Her research focuses on understanding the effects of PFAS exposure on lipid metabolism and its links to cardiometabolic diseases. She holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Michigan State University (2019), where her work centered on mechanisms of toxicant-induced liver injury. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Vanderbilt University in 2013.
Her research interests integrate environmental toxicology, metabolic pathways, and disease mechanisms. Current projects explore how PFAS chemicals disrupt lipid homeostasis, with implications for conditions like obesity and diabetes. Past work emphasized liver toxicity, particularly from environmental contaminants.
No awards or grants are explicitly listed. She is affiliated with the Petriello lab, focusing on translational research at the interface of environmental exposures and metabolic health.
