Katherine Parsons is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Aberystwyth University, actively contributing to research, teaching, and public engagement in the fields of Behavioural Science and Implementation Science.
Her research interests focus on designing and evaluating behaviour change interventions using frameworks like COM-B and participatory methods. She specializes in addressing public health challenges such as increasing physical activity in autistic young people, obesity prevention, breastfeeding promotion, and tackling gender-based violence. Her work integrates social marketing principles to address complex social issues.
Recent publications highlight a trend toward co-designed, evidence-based interventions grounded in qualitative insights and systematic reviews, particularly in neurodiverse populations and community health campaigns. She has contributed to journals such as Psychology of Sport and Exercise, Research in Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Health Marketing Quarterly.
