Katherine McGuire

Katherine McGuire is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of New Brunswick (Saint John campus). She holds a BA, MEd, and MA from UNB. Her career spans over three decades, including roles as Departmental Laboratory Manager (1989–2006), full-time Psychology Instructor (since 2006), and student residence Don (1996–2003). Her research focuses on sleep behavior, adult learning styles, graph interpretation, and the intersection of human attachment with spirituality. She has taught internationally in China and Swaziland.

Dr. McGuire actively contributes to academic governance, serving as co-chair of the Teaching Excellence and Policy Senate Committee, member of the Vice President's Excellence in Teaching Committee, and member of the Research Ethics Board. She also participates in the Interprofessional Health Research Day organizing committee and New Brunswick Bioethics Consortium.

Her scholarly work blends education innovation with cognitive science, emphasizing practical applications like library instruction techniques and graph-based problem-solving. Her publications span sleep research methodologies to pedagogical advancements in technology-enhanced learning.
