Mostaq M. Hussain is a Professor at the Faculty of Business, University of New Brunswick (Saint John). He joined UNB in 2006 and teaches Managerial Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, and Accounting Theory. Prior to UNB, he held academic positions at Sultan Qaboos University (Oman) and the University of Vaasa (Finland). He is a member of the GAU (University of New Brunswick) and professional organizations such as CAAA, AAA, ASAC, and the Strategic Research Unit at the University of Vaasa. His research focuses on non-financial performance measurement in services, corporate governance, and interest-free banking.

His research integrates management accounting with non-financial performance systems in financial institutions and services. He has presented at global conferences, including AAA, CAAA, and ASAC, and received awards such as the Literati Club’s (Emerald) ‘Awards for Excellence’ and SSHRC Travel Grant. Dr. Hussain has served on the Program Review Committee (senate level) and University Appeal Committee at UNB. His personal interests include traveling, gardening, and carpentry.
