Katherine Koch

Dr. Katherine Koch serves as Co-Chair and Associate Professor of Educational Studies/Special Education, and Department Chair at St. Mary's College of Maryland. She specializes in special education, inclusive education practices, and the intersection of emergency medicine and disability advocacy. Her roles include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses on special education methods, learning disabilities, and research design.

• Education: B.S.Ed. in Speech Pathology & Audiology (Miami University, 1989), M.Ed. in Special Education (Bowie State University, 2001), Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership for Changing Populations (Notre Dame of Maryland University, 2011).

Research focuses on supporting educators in inclusive settings and improving prehospital emergency care for individuals with disabilities. She authored EMS Response to Patients with Special Needs and is completing a forthcoming book on EMS case studies.
