Katherine Elizabeth Kenny

Dr Katherine Elizabeth Kenny is an early career researcher at the Centre for Social Research in Health, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture at the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney). Her work bridges science and technology studies and post-structuralist theories to analyze how health, disease, and care are culturally and institutionally constructed.

Her research investigates the politics of knowledge production, the lived experience of illness and wellness, and evolving practices in biomedicine and informal care. Key empirical foci include cancer survivorship, antimicrobial resistance, death and bereavement, and global health governance.

Dr Kenny has contributed to two major Australian Research Council (ARC)-funded projects, examining the social dimensions of cancer survivorship and antibiotic governance in the context of antimicrobial resistance. Her methodological expertise centers on qualitative research and interdisciplinary approaches to health and biomedicine.
