Dr. Katherine Albertson is an Associate Professor in Criminology at the Sheffield Institute of Law and Justice, part of the College of Social Sciences and Arts at Sheffield Hallam University. She holds a PhD, BA (Hons), PgCert, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her research focuses on three core areas: Health and Justice, Peer Mentoring in Custody, and Military Veterans in the Criminal Justice System. She leads the BA Criminology Level 4 teaching team and has received multiple accolades, including annual student nominations for Inspirational Teaching and Outstanding Student Support. Her work integrates theoretical models of desistance with practical interventions in prisons and probation systems.
