Katharina Stadler serves as Scientific Staff at the Research Center for the Historical-Philological Commentary on John Malalas' World Chronicle, hosted by the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences within the Department of History at the University of Tübingen's Faculty of Humanities since July 2024.
Her academic background includes:
- First State Examination for Teaching at High Schools (June 2024) from Goethe University Frankfurt with thesis "Truthfulness and the Illustration of Historical Processes in Polybius"
- Studies in History, German Studies, and Educational Science (2018-2024) at Goethe University Frankfurt
- Study Abroad at University of Zurich (2022-2023) via Swiss-European Mobility Programme
Her research centers on Ancient History with specialized focus on Greek Historiography and Byzantine textual analysis. She examines methodological approaches in ancient historical writing, particularly investigating truth representation and process visualization in Polybian historiography and Malalas' chronicle. Current work involves philological deconstruction of Malalas' World Chronicle within its socio-political context, contributing to understanding of late antique historical consciousness and narrative techniques.
