Dr. Katelyn Melvin is a Lecturer in Speech Pathology at the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Queensland (UQ). Her work focuses on family-centered approaches in early childhood intervention, health promotion, and innovative teaching methods such as simulation-based education. She holds a PhD and Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) from UQ.
Her research explores collaborative service delivery models, parent capacity-building, and co-design methodologies to enhance early intervention outcomes. Key projects include developing social media strategies for early language promotion and co-designing shared book-reading environments in community settings. She also investigates how speech-language pathologists engage families during sessions, using observational and qualitative methods.
