Professor Kate Pickett is a Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York, where she leads the PhD programme in Health Sciences and is a member of the Health Inequality (HI) and Inequality: Measurement, Interpretation, and Policy (MIP) networks.

Her research centers on Social Determinants of Health, analyzing how income inequality, social class, neighborhood context, and ethnic density influence mortality, morbidity, teenage birth, violent crime, obesity, and social mobility.
