معرفی
Dr. Kate O'Sullivan is a Research Associate at Cardiff University's School of Geography and Planning. She is currently contributing to the BuildZero project, exploring a UK circular economy vision for building stock that is zero carbon, zero waste, and zero material extraction by 2050. Collaborating with Prof. Kersty Hobson, she focuses on co-creating pathways to realize BuildZero futures with stakeholders and the public.
Her research background in human geography emphasizes the interplay between humans and environments, particularly decarbonization in marginalized communities, energy justice, and spatial equity. Recent work includes the Greenhouse Gas Removal by Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) project, where she developed tools to address ethical and governance challenges of carbon removal methods with affected communities. Earlier research with the Active Building Centre Programme examined lived experiences in low/zero carbon homes in Wales, linking placemaking processes to community identity and climate action.
Dr. O'Sullivan’s expertise bridges environmental ethics, sustainable urban planning, and participatory methodologies. She holds no listed scientific awards but is actively engaged in interdisciplinary climate research. No advising or grant details are provided, though her involvement in major projects underscores her collaborative approach.
She is affiliated with Cardiff University’s Glamorgan Building and maintains external profiles on LinkedIn, ResearchGate, and Twitter.
