Holly Buck

Holly Buck is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environment and Sustainability at the University at Buffalo, part of the College of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on climate change governance, geoengineering, carbon removal technologies, and the social dimensions of environmental policy. She holds a PhD in Development Sociology from Cornell University (2017) and an MSc in Human Ecology from Lund University (2011).

Buck’s work critically examines the societal implications of climate interventions, including ethical considerations of geoengineering, equity in carbon removal strategies, and community perspectives on ecosystem restoration.
