Alice Evatt is a Research Fellow on Net Zero for the Fossil Fuel Sector at the University of Oxford, affiliated with Oxford Net Zero and the Environmental Change Institute. She collaborates with Prof. Myles Allen and Dr. Stuart Jenkins, focusing on assessing net zero strategies in the fossil fuel sector, the EU’s Net Zero Industry Act, and infrastructure development. Her work bridges climate ethics and policy, emphasizing emergency climate policy and accountability across Scopes 1-3 emissions.
Education: DPhil (Oxford University/Balliol College), MPhil (Newnham College, Cambridge), BA (Advanced Honours) in Philosophy & Art History (University of Sydney), and a Graduate Certificate in Public Policy (University of Sydney).
Research interests include climate ethics, fossil fuel sector decarbonization, EU climate policy, and emergency climate response frameworks. Her recent articles address carbon dioxide removal, climate emergency ethics, and AI applications in climate mitigation.
Her collaborative projects emphasize global infrastructure for carbon storage and policy alignment with net zero targets. She contributes to interdisciplinary teams addressing climate change’s ethical and practical dimensions.
