Dr. Kate Jordan is a Reader in Architectural History and Theory at the University of Westminster's School of Architecture and Cities. She serves as PhD coordinator and co-convener of the Architectural Humanities Research Group. Her research focuses on modern faith architecture, gender in architectural practice, and inclusive heritage conservation. She leads the MA Architecture and Sustainable Heritage program and supervises MArch dissertations exploring historic landscapes.
Her research projects include the RIBA-funded 'Moving pictures: reusing cinemas as places of worship in the diaspora.' Key interests span adaptive reuse of religious buildings, gendered spatial practices, and post-emancipation church design. Notable works include co-editing Modern Architecture for Religious Communities: Building The Kingdom (2018) and publishing widely on Victorian convents and contemporary church design.
