Kate Johansen

Kate Johansen is an Adjunct Professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and currently serves as State Government Relations Director for Mayo Clinic. Previously, she held leadership roles as Director of Government Relations at Medica and Senior Health Policy Advisor to the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

• Education: B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College; J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law), graduating summa cum laude.

Her research and professional focus centers on health policy, healthcare reform, and government relations, with expertise in legislative processes across state legislatures and Capitol Hill. She has provided policy analysis and commentary widely featured in Minnesota media and The New York Times.
