Kate Adams is a Lecturer at the University of Salford's School of Arts, Media and Creative Technologies, specializing in performance, climate psychology, and dramaturgy. She holds a PhD from the University of Hull (2008) and serves on the Climate Psychology Alliance board. Her work bridges artistic expression with ecological awareness through interdisciplinary projects like Water is Attracted to Water, exploring human-water relationships. She teaches modules such as Approaches to Contemporary Performance and supervises postgraduate research in ecoperformance and arts engagement.
Her research integrates Bracha Ettinger's 'compassionate hospitality' theory to create spaces balancing grief and joy in climate discourse. Notable collaborations include dramaturgical roles in Mushroom Language and Trapped, blending science, history, and participatory practices. Kate also leads workshops on climate psychology and eco-emotions, emphasizing community engagement and creative resilience.
