Associate Professor Katarzyna Sitnik leads a virology research group at the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. Her work investigates stromal cell-immune system interactions in health and disease, particularly regarding host-microbe relationships.
Research combines biomaterial engineering and immunology to understand how fibroblasts regulate immune responses. Current projects examine antiviral mechanisms in splenic fibroblasts and stromal contributions to infection outcomes.
