Katalin Terezia Ferenc is a Research Fellow at the Norwegian Center for Molecular BioMedicine (NCMBM), University of Oslo, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. She is part of the Anthony Mathelier Group focusing on Computational Biology & Gene Regulation. Her current project involves developing deep learning models to stratify breast cancer subtypes based on transcriptional regulation.
Education includes a BSc in Biology from Eötvös Loránd University, an MSc in Biomedicine from the Karolinska Institute, and an MSc in Applied Data Science from the University of Gothenburg.
Research interests span computational biology, genomics, and machine learning applications in cancer biology. Previous work includes DNA FISH probe design, analysis of DNA double-strand breaks in ovarian cancer, predictive modeling of drug-induced mitochondrial toxicity, and characterization of DRUG-seq techniques. She actively contributes to improving bioinformatics software quality and open-access resources like the JASPAR database.
Publications highlight her expertise in computational methodologies, collaborative research practices, and transcription factor analysis. She is a member of the Mathelier Group, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to molecular biology challenges.
