Dr. Wilson specializes in coastal geomorphology and sedimentology, focusing on the interplay between terrestrial/nearshore sedimentary processes and climatic controls on coastal landscapes. Her research spans three key themes:
- Morphodynamic feedbacks in coastal systems across modern to Late-Pleistocene timescales
- Coastal hazards from cyclones and sea level rise
- Interdisciplinary coastal management and resilience strategies
She leads the Coastal Morphology, Processes, and Sedimentary Systems (COMPASS) Lab, which integrates field observations, numerical modeling, and remote sensing analysis. Current projects extend from present-day coastal changes to Late Pleistocene sedimentary records.
