Anne Bernard Kearney is a Part-Time Lecturer of French at Boston College's Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. She holds a DPLG from l'Ecole nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris. Her research focuses on translating contemporary English poetry (particularly Irish and American works) into French, with notable contributions including translations of Seamus Heaney and James Tate. She has received the Prix Amic (1990) from the Académie française for her translation work.
Her publications include Le Féminin Solaire dans la mythologie (2015), Lovers, Queens, and Strangers: Strong Women in Celtic Myth (1999), and co-authored chapters on art and healing. She has presented at international conferences, including discussions on translating Seamus Heaney and Celtic cultural figures.
Kearney is also an accomplished artist, with memberships in the Graphic Studio (Dublin) and Mixit Print Studio (Somerville, MA). Her artwork has been exhibited annually at the Somerville Open Studios and Boston College's Baptist Library Art Gallery.
