Dr. Kat Schneider is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Appearance Research (CAR) within the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences at the University of the West of England. Her work focuses on developing body-positive interventions in sport, addressing weight stigma in fitness environments, and analyzing mental health impacts of global crises. She holds a PhD in Sport & Exercise Psychology from Liverpool John Moores University, alongside degrees from Loughborough University.
Research Interests:
- Body image interventions for girls in sport
- Weight bias reduction among fitness professionals
- Mental health effects of pandemics and financial crises
- Gender essentialism in youth sports
Collaborations: UNICEF, Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport, Dove Self Esteem Project, Crisis and Resilience Expertise (CaRE) group.
