Kasia Tomasiewicz

Kasia Tomasiewicz is Lecturer in Museum Cultures at Birkbeck's School of Historical Studies. She completed a Collaborative Doctoral Award PhD ('Memory in the Museum: Representing the Second World War in the Imperial War Museum, London 1960–2020') while embedded in the IWM London team during development of their Second World War and Holocaust Galleries.

Her research examines:

• Museum representations of conflict and memory
• Material culture of war
• Curatorial practices in historical trauma
• Public history methodologies

As co-host of the 'Cursed Objects' podcast, she analyzes material culture politics. Media contributions include BBC Radio London discussions on historical objects and written analyses of war representation in museums.

Teaching includes MA modules in Museum Cultures and undergraduate Art in London, focusing on museum practice, national identity, and heritage interpretation.
