Kashi Johnson is a Professor and Chairperson of Theatre at Lehigh University’s College of Arts and Sciences, renowned for her innovative integration of Hip Hop Theatre pedagogy into academic training. Her work emphasizes socially conscious performance, authenticity, and activism, both within and beyond the classroom.

- M.F.A. from the University of Pittsburgh
Her research focuses on culturally responsive teaching methods, Afrocentric actor training, and the intersection of race, identity, and art. As an Artistic Associate with the Black Acting Methods Studio, she contributes to national dialogues on equity in performance education.
Kashi Johnson’s accolades include the Class of '61 Professorship, Stabler Excellence in Teaching Award, and Lehigh’s MLK Faculty Award. She is affiliated with Actor’s Equity Association (AEA), the Black Theatre Network (BTN), and the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE).
