Dr. Kashef Ijaz is an Adjunct Professor in the Hubert Department of Global Health at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health. He currently serves as Vice President for Health Programs at The Carter Center, leading initiatives to combat tropical diseases in 18 nations and improve global mental health care. Previously, he held senior roles at the U.S. CDC, including Principal Deputy Director of Global Health Protection, where he managed disease outbreak responses like the Ebola epidemic and H1N1 pandemic. He began his career as a medical epidemiologist in Arkansas, focusing on marginalized populations and tuberculosis research.

His research interests emphasize disease surveillance, global health security, and infectious disease control.
