Kasey Grady

Kasey Grady is a Senior Lecturer in the College Writing Program at Washington University, where she teaches Writing 1 and Food as Social Justice courses. She holds an MFA in Poetry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, an MA in English (Writing Pedagogy) and a BA in English (Composition) from Truman State University.

Her research explores writing pedagogy, memoirs, food writing, and pop culture adaptations of classic literature. She investigates how cultural narratives intersect with personal expression and social justice frameworks.

Grady's poetry publications frequently examine themes of identity, social justice, and reinterpretations of literary classics, utilizing contemporary forms to engage with historical contexts.

• Margaret Leong Children's Poetry Prize (2014)

She advises WU-SLam (poetry slam team) and WuPR (Political Review), while also serving as a progress counselor supporting first-generation and low-income students.
