Dr. Karpagam Krishnamoorthy, affectionately known as 'Dr. K', is a Lecturer in Anatomy at Swansea University Medical School. She holds a PhD and Master's in Medical Anatomy from India and a Master's in Human Anatomy from the University of Dundee (UK). Her expertise spans Human Anatomy, Behavioral Sciences, Medical Education, 3D Anatomy modeling, and Health & Wellbeing. She actively participates in anatomy education conferences and has pioneered the use of 3D virtual tools in teaching during her postdoctoral work at Dundee. Currently, she contributes to Swansea's mission to innovate medical education through collaborative research and pedagogy.
Education: B.D.S. (Dentistry), followed by advanced degrees in Medical Anatomy (M.Sc., PhD) from India, and a Master's in Human Anatomy (Distinction) from the University of Dundee.
Research Interests: Integrating technology in medical education, behavioral science applications in anatomy learning, and anatomical education methodologies. Her work bridges clinical anatomy with educational psychology, emphasizing student well-being and engagement.
Awards: Second-highest publication award at Saveetha University (2016-17) and teaching excellence nomination from SRM Dental College (2019-20).
Advising & Grants: Supervises postgraduate research and has held roles in pastoral support across institutions. Engaged in collaborative projects on 3D anatomical visualization and medical education innovation.
Labs/Teams: Works with Swansea Medical School's anatomy team and international collaborators on educational technology initiatives.
