Karmo Sanders is a Lecturer in Theatre at the University of Southern Maine (USM), affiliated with the Department of Theatre within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. She teaches 'Acting for Non-Majors' and 'Playwriting.'

Research interests focus on playwriting, musical theatre, and comedy. Notable works include the Off-Off Broadway musical Radical Radio, the comedy Humpin’ Glory Bay, and the short film Face It. She has also acted in TV and theatre, including the Discovery Channel’s Yankee Jungle and the sold-out musical Gold Rush Girls.
Her 2016 article Go West Young Girl was published in the Dramatists Guild Resource Directory. Karmo tours a one-woman stand-up comedy show and collaborates with Sanders & Sanders.
