Karl Wang is an Associate Professor of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi’s Patterson School of Accountancy. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Fudan University (1982), an M.A.C. in Accounting from the University of South Carolina (1996), and a Ph.D. in Accounting from the same institution (2003). His research focuses on meta-research, social science methodologies, the history of accounting, and experimental auditing studies. He has taught courses in auditing, international accounting, and research methodology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Notable awards include the 2016 Best Paper Award at the Allied Academies International Conference and recognition in the PCAOB’s 2012 Public Meeting on Audit Firm Rotation. His work bridges philosophical inquiry with practical accounting challenges, emphasizing critical thinking and ethical decision-making in professional practice.
