His research primarily focuses on international corporate governance, capital markets, and corporate sustainability. Dr. Lins investigates how governance structures affect firm value across different institutional settings, particularly during financial crises. His work examines the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance, the impact of transparency on market liquidity, and how board renewal mechanisms influence environmental performance. His research often leverages international comparisons to understand how institutional differences affect corporate behavior.
Dr. Lins' scholarly output shows a consistent theme of analyzing governance mechanisms and social capital during periods of market stress. His influential studies demonstrate that firms with strong social capital (measured through CSR) performed significantly better during financial crises, and that board renewal mechanisms like majority voting and gender diversity improve environmental performance. His research has been published in top-tier journals including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Journal of Accounting Research.
