Can Huang is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Gies College of Business, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His research focuses on entrepreneurial finance, innovation, venture capital markets, and banking. He teaches FIN 321: Advanced Corporate Finance and has received the FMA 2024 Best Paper in Financial Intermediation & Markets for his work on venture capital networks.
Research interests include exploring how venture capital networks influence investment decisions and firm outcomes, analyzing differences in deposit pricing between large and small banks, and studying signaling mechanisms in venture debt financing. His work highlights themes like capital misallocation, liquidity services, and asymmetric information in financial markets.
