Professor Hitoshi Takehara serves at the Faculty of Commerce, Graduate School of Business and Finance, specializing in accounting, business administration, asset pricing, equity valuation, and portfolio management. His academic career includes a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from University of Tsukuba.
His research focuses on the intersection of corporate social responsibility, financial markets, and innovation in Japanese firms. Key areas include asset pricing models (particularly Fama-French variants in Japanese context), trademark and patent valuation, CSR impacts on firm risk and performance, and liquidity analysis in Tokyo Stock Exchange. His work demonstrates how intangible assets like intellectual property and social responsibility initiatives affect firm valuation and risk profiles.
Recent publications reveal a strong trend toward examining how CSR activities interact with innovation and financial performance in Japanese markets, with particular attention to family firms. His research employs sophisticated econometric techniques including VAR models and multi-factor analysis to study earnings persistence, risk pricing, and market efficiency.
