Karl Kramer-Johansen serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of French Horn in the Conservatory of Music within Brooklyn College's School of Visual, Media and Performing Arts. An acclaimed Norwegian horn virtuoso, he performs extensively as a chamber musician with the Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players and Dorian Wind Quintet, and as a soloist with major orchestras globally including the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic, and Munich Philharmonic.
His artistic practice spans Horn Performance, Chamber Music, and Contemporary Music, with notable premieres of works by Marc-Antonio Consoli, Kile Smith, and Wolfgang Plagge. Kramer-Johansen champions new music through ensembles like Ensemble PI while maintaining an active career in Orchestral Performance, Composition, and Conducting, having recorded for Philips, Summit, and Polygram labels.
His accolades include:

As an educator, he has held faculty positions at Rowan University, University of Tennessee, and University of Akron, and conducts masterclasses worldwide.
