Karl Foster

Karl Foster is a Senior Lecturer affiliated with the London College of Communication at the University of the Arts London (UAL). He holds a Master’s Degree in Visual Arts – Illustration from Camberwell College of Arts. His professional background emphasizes research design, lecturing, and academic writing, alongside technical skills in Adobe Photoshop and painting.

As the owner of Narcissus Productions, Foster facilitates collaborations with artists and designers, creating artwork for exhibitions, web content, and competitions. He regularly participates in the London Design Festival and contributes to publications by The Association of Illustration. Notable projects include the Rubber Duck and Neon Chicken cartoon strip/animation series.

Foster’s research focuses on intersections of narrative, politics, and social justice, particularly addressing African identity, institutional racism, colonialism, and civil rights. His creative practice integrates satire and graphic storytelling to explore these themes. Teaching and learning methodologies are also a key area of his academic contributions.
