Karl Andraczek is a Researcher at the iDiv Synthesis Center (sDiv), affiliated with the University of Leipzig. As a Synthesis PostDoc since January 2024, he investigates how belowground plant functional biodiversity influences ecosystem productivity and resilience in grasslands. His work bridges plant ecology, biodiversity conservation, and ecosystem function.
Education:
- 2014–2017: Bachelor in Biology, University of Leipzig
- 2017–2019: Master in Biology, University of Leipzig
- 2020–2024: PhD Student in the BEF-Loops Project (collaboration with Wageningen University and Leipzig University)
Research interests focus on biodiversity-ecosystem function relationships, including experimental studies on insect decline impacts on nutrient cycling and reciprocal biodiversity-productivity interactions in grasslands. His current postdoc explores subterranean biodiversity’s role in ecological stability.
No notable scientific awards or grants are listed. He contributes to interdisciplinary collaborations, such as with Associate Professor Fons van der Plas and Professor Alexandra Weigelt.
Affiliated with the iDiv Synthesis Center, a leading institution for biodiversity research.
