Karin Winroth is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at Södertörn University, Department of Social Sciences. Her research focuses on corporate culture, leadership in knowledge-intensive firms, consumer culture, branding, social media, and digital entrepreneurship. She explores identity construction through cultural expressions and organizing processes involving multiple actors in financial markets.
Key projects include studying co-authoring in branding processes within the digital world, financial networks' formal/informal ties, and multi-professional roles in financial markets. Collaborators include Prof. Erik Borg (Södertörn University) and Assoc. Prof. Jesper Blomberg/Hans Kjellberg (Stockholm School of Economics).
Teaching expertise spans branding, communication, consumer culture, organizational theory, and leadership. Recent publications (2019–2022) address fashion branding, political symbolism, and financial market practices. Her book Fashionabla varumärken och passionerade entreprenörer (2020) examines luxury branding and entrepreneurship.
Research themes emphasize how cultural artifacts shape communication, brand co-authorship dynamics, and professional networks in finance. She has analyzed investment banking practices, stock market coordination conflicts, and the sociology of financial markets.
