Karin Schmidt

Karin Schmidt is Professor and Dean of Academic Affairs at the THI Business School, Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, specializing in Business Management, Accounting, and Controlling. She has held this professorship since 2010 following prior roles as team manager for central costs planning and controlling at Siemens AG (2007-2010) and research assistant at the Chair of Controlling and Accounting, Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (2003-2006).

Her research focuses on corporate financial systems, examining internal control mechanisms, cost management strategies, and financial reporting frameworks. This work integrates practical industry insights from her Siemens AG experience with academic theory in business administration, particularly emphasizing operational controlling methodologies within industrial contexts.
