Karin Oberg

Dr. Karin Öberg is the Thomas Dudley Cabot Professor of the Natural Sciences at Harvard University. Awarded the 2024 Barry Prize for Distinguished Intellectual Achievement, her research revolutionized our understanding of chemical processes in planet formation.

She investigates how molecular complexity emerges in protoplanetary disks and influences planetary habitability through laboratory experiments, astrochemical modeling, and astronomical observations.
