Dr. Ilaria Pascucci is a Professor at the Department of Planetary Sciences at The University of Arizona, with affiliations at the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory (LPL). Her research focuses on planet formation and evolution, linking protoplanetary disks to exoplanet populations. She has led numerous studies using space telescopes like the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), Hubble, and Spitzer.
Research interests include:
- Protoplanetary disk evolution and gas/dust dynamics
- Exoplanet demographics and habitable zone planet formation
- Observational astrophysics with advanced instrumentation
Recent articles (2019–2025) highlight her work on disk winds, carbon-rich chemistry, and JWST-based studies of planet-forming regions. She has advised students like Naman Bajaj and Galen Bergsten.
Scientific awards include:
- Fellow, American Astronomical Society
She leads grants such as NASA's Nexus for Exoplanet System Science (NExSS) and National Science Foundation projects.
