Karin Kjellenberg

Karin Kjellenberg is a Project Researcher at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH) in Stockholm, affiliated with the Department of Physical Activity and Health. As a Sports Science PhD, her work focuses on adolescent health behaviors and brain function.

Her dissertation research titled Physical Activity Patterns and Brain Health in Swedish Schoolchildren explores links between physical activity, fitness, mental health, cognitive abilities, and academic performance. Additional work investigates movement breaks, antioxidant intake, school environments, and pandemic impacts on youth health.

Recent publications span physical activity epidemiology, nutritional impacts on mental health, and environmental influences on adolescent behavior. She contributes to public science communication through films and reports at Brain Health in Schools.
