Dr. Karin Di Bella is an Associate Professor of Piano at Brock University's Department of Music. She holds a DMA from the University of British Columbia (UBC), an MMus from Washington University in St. Louis, a BMus from the University of Western Ontario (UWO), and an ARCT from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Previously, she served on the faculty of the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Her research interests focus on contemporary Canadian repertoire, particularly the works of Jack Behrens, and historical piano instruments and performance techniques of the 18th and 19th centuries. She has released a CD titled Variants: Solo Piano Music of Jack Behrens, distributed via the Canadian Music Centre and streaming platforms like Naxos.
Active as a performer, she has appeared as a concerto soloist and collaborator with orchestras and artists across North America and Europe. She is also an adjudicator for Canadian music festivals and a senior piano examiner for the Royal Conservatory of Music.
