Anton Nel is a distinguished Professor of Piano and Division Head of Keyboard Studies at the Butler School of Music, University of Texas at Austin, holding the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Endowed Chair. He is also a Visiting Professor at Manhattan School of Music and teaches at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto. His career encompasses international performances as a soloist, chamber musician, and pedagogue, with engagements at prestigious festivals like Aspen, Ravinia, and Orford. Nel is celebrated for his interpretations of classical and romantic repertoire, winning the 1987 Naumburg International Piano Competition.
